I provide specialist, evidence-based reading support for children who are struggling with literacy, including those with dyslexia or dyslexia-related learning differences. My teaching is grounded in the Connections in 3D program, an Orton-Gillingham–based, structured literacy approach that is explicit, systematic, and multisensory.
With a strong foundation in structured literacy and explicit phonics instruction, my approach is carefully tailored to each child’s individual learning profile. I work with students to build secure skills in decoding, fluency, spelling, and reading comprehension, always progressing at a pace that supports both confidence and long-term success.
Professional Background
Before moving into education, I trained and practised as a solicitor in England and Sydney and later worked internationally in professional and leadership roles. This background has strongly shaped my teaching style: structured, methodical, and clear, while remaining warm, encouraging, and responsive to each child’s needs.
I understand the importance of trust, communication, and consistency—particularly when working with children who may feel frustrated or anxious about reading.
Teaching Approach
Sessions are engaging and purposeful, using carefully sequenced, multisensory instruction informed by research into how children learn to read. I place particular emphasis on helping students understand how language works, so that reading becomes logical rather than confusing or reliant on guesswork.
I work closely with parents and, where appropriate, with schools, providing clear feedback and practical guidance so progress is reinforced beyond each session.
Whether a child requires targeted intervention, confidence-building support, or structured reinforcement alongside school learning, my goal is always the same: to help each student become a confident, capable, and independent reader.
